FUNDASEMA is a private, non-profit organization aimed at providing a free and comprehensive education to children who live in poverty-stricken areas. FUNDASEMA’s primary goal is to help children in developing areas secure their right to an integral education. At FUNDASEMA, we are convinced that progress begins with a proper education, not only improving the life of an individual, but also contributing to the development of society as a whole.
To stimulate the educational and socio-cultural development of children between the ages of 3 and 12 who lack the resources to access the public education system by offering integral attention that includes:
1. Identifying hidden talents in the arts and sports in order to build them up and prepare our students for a successful career in the same.
2. Offering school tutorials to reinforce the areas of learning where the schooling system has shortfalls.
3. Offering health and dental check-ups, immunizations and any other treatment that is required by the child.
4. Coping with nutritional deficiencies that some children exhibit.
Our goal is to go beyond the regular education system by opening a horizon of possibilities to show our children that there is a bigger and better world out there full of opportunities. We want to encourage these children to be the kindlers of change in their communities, inculcating values through an array of workshops where they are taught art, culture, history, geography and science in a creative and stimulating way. We are dedicated to transforming kindergarten through 6th-grade (K-6) education so all students can thrive in their studies, careers, and adult lives. We are focused on practices and programs that help students acquire and effectively apply the knowledge, attitudes, skills and beliefs to achieve their full potential.
We believe that the education plays an essential role in supporting civil society, economic development and democracy. Our vision is of a society where everyone understands the value of education and has the tools to ensure their rights and fulfil the obligations that accompany these rights. Our vision is of a new world of learning based on the compelling truth that improving education is the key for the betterment of our society.
It’s a world of creativity, inspiration and ambition informed by real-world evidence and experience. It’s a world where students become lifelong learners and develop 21st-century skills. It’s a world where innovation is the rule, not the exception. It’s a world where schools provide rigorous project-based learning, social and emotional learning, and access to new technology. It’s a world where students, parents, teachers, policy makers and the people they serve are all empowered with a shared vision to change education for the better.
We see the organization as part of a mutual endeavor, establishing engaged and supportive relationships with others around our Vision and Mission, sharing expertise, building alliances and bringing people together.
We show our work and use of funds in our audited annual reports, presenting our supporters an opportunity to examine the results in order to critically assess the impact being generated.
We seek to be a trusted voice, using our knowledge, networks and independence to influence those who can effect change.
